Frontend Developer

There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Frontend Developer to join a rapidly expanding team as they head towards the national launch of their first product. They are creating a big brand, supported by a pioneering technology and data platform, all focussed on delivering the right outcomes for customers. Located in the heart of Manchester, this is a unique opportunity for a Frontend Developer to join an ambitious and talented team.

As a Frontend Developer you’ll have the opportunity to work in a talented, proven and techagnostic multidiscipline software team, using the latest tools and languages. You’ll feel the excitement of working in a start-up, whilst having all the benefits of a well-funded and established industry leader. They are looking for people with a genuine passion to grow, do something new and make a difference, both within the team and an industry. You’ll be experienced in designing and delivering innovative solutions in a continuous deployment environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively on a range of new and existing products and features, championing new ideas and tech and working on greenfield projects.
  • Playing a key role within a delivery squad consisting of Developers, Testers and a Product Owner, with a focus on TTD in a Agile/Kanban environment, from sprint planning to completion.
  • Utilise React as a Javascript framework, an exciting stack and often pair programming, you’ll be working on frontend-weighted full lifecycle development, in their fast paced and serverless environment.
  • Influence the choice of methodologies across teams. Whether Scrum, Kanban or Scrumban, the team decides what’s right for them in delivering high transaction, secure, stable products that deliver real impact.

Skills & Experience

  • JavaScript React or Vue background, with exposure to Agile ways of working.
  • Passionate problem solver, with the willingness to learn.
  • Delivered well-tested code and truly care about the quality of your output.
  • The ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be easily adaptable and open to trying new tools.

Nice to have

  • Full development lifecycles.
  • Pair programming.
  • JavaScript tooling, such as Webpacker or Babel.
  • AngularJS.
  • Working knowledge of, ES6 or newer.
